Whitney Scholl Receives 2024 Outstanding Industry Educator Award from Explore the New Manufacturing

Explore the New Manufacturing made a surprise award presentation to Whitney Scholl at the organization’s Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Award Ceremony. Scholl was presented with a 2024 Outstanding Industry Educator Award in the middle school category. The award celebrates skilled and dedicated educators working to increase the understanding of manufacturing careers available in West Virginia. Scholl, a science educator, teaches at Ripley Middle School. She will receive a $500 award designated for classroom enhancement, in addition to a commemorative wooden plaque and gift basket featuring products made in West Virginia. 

Explore the New Manufacturing Announces Winners for the Explore Student Video Contest Mid-Ohio Region

Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to announce the winners of the Explore Student Video Contest Mid-Ohio Region. Five middle school teams were judged on the creation of a 3-minute video about their manufacturing partner, the employees, and cool aspects of the company.

The FIRST PLACE recipient of the Best Manufacturing Message Award is Blennerhassett Middle School for their video about Mister Bee Potato Chips Company.  Blennerhassett's winning video showcases what’s cool about Mister Bee’s and their famous potato chips.

Explore the New Manufacturing Announces Winners for the Explore Student Video Contest North Central Region

Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to announce the winners of the Explore Student Video Contest north central region. Three middle school teams were judged on the creation of a 3-minute video about their manufacturing partner, the employees, and cool aspects of the company.

The FIRST PLACE recipient of the Best Manufacturing Message Award is Taylor County Middle School for their video about Simonton Windows.  Taylor County's winning video showcases the products manufactured by and jobs available at Simonton Windows. 

Kevin Morris Receives 2024 Outstanding Industry Educator Award from Explore the New Manufacturing

Explore the New Manufacturing made a surprise award presentation to Kevin Morris at the organization’s North Central Regional Award Ceremony. Morris was presented with a 2024 Outstanding Industry Educator Award in the high school category. The award celebrates skilled and dedicated educators working to increase the understanding of manufacturing careers available in West Virginia. Morris, Career Technical Education and Aerospace Engineering instructor, teaches at Marion County Technical Center. He will receive a $500 award designated for classroom enhancement, in addition to a commemorative wooden plaque and gift basket featuring products made in West Virginia.

Explore the New Manufacturing Announces the Winner for the Eastern Region Manufacturing Innovation Challenge

Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to announce the Eastern Region Manufacturing Innovation Challenge Award was presented to James Rumsey Technical Institute, partnered with Procter & Gamble. The team’s challenge was to develop a rainwater collection and distribution system for P&G’s Tabler Station Manufacturing Facility.

“The Tabler Station Procter and Gamble Manufacturing site was excited to work with the students and facility on a Site Water Sustainability Project,” stated Patrick Winkleman, Environment, Health, and Safety Director for Procter & Gamble. We were very impressed with the students' final concept and presentation. The solution addressed several concerns and requirements that were provided in the chartered work. Congratulations to James Rumsey on winning the Eastern Region, and we wish them well in the state competition.“
