Middle School Students Discover What’s So Cool About Manufacturing

WHEELING, April 14, 2019 – Explore: The New Manufacturing celebrated the West Virginia What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Video Contest during a virtual awards ceremony Tuesday night with six local middle schools and six manufacturing companies.

“Today’s middle school students will be tomorrow’s workforce in manufacturing in West Virginia, said Monica Cross, Program Director of the WVMAEF. “This generation has a real opportunity to have lifelong careers in modern manufacturing environments that will use skills in technology, problem-solving, innovation and communication.”

The student teams competed for three awards, Outstanding Creativity, Best Manufacturing Message, and the Viewer's Choice. All the videos can still be viewed by visiting https://www.exploremfgwv.com/studentvideocontest
