Moundsville Middle School and the Ziegenfelder Company team up for the West Virginia What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Student Video Contest

Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to release the Moundsville Middle School’s video submission in the Northern Region What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Student Video Contest.  The Moundsville video showcases the popsicles produced by the Ziegenfelder Company, located in Wheeling, West Virginia.

The students are competing for three regional awards: Outstanding Creativity, Best Manufacturing Message, and the Viewer's Choice.  Visit https://www.exploremfgwv.com/students/student-video-contest.html to view the Moundsville video.

“Making the ‘Manufacturing is Cool’ video not only allows students a hands-on exploration of media and communications, but also allows them to experience, up-close, manufacturing processes and their impact on local and world economies,” stated Kimberly S. Ghaphery, Moundsville Middle School Teacher Coach.

Participating Moundsville students: Gwennelyn Brown, Ethan Corvino, Sophia Crumm, Alina Holliday, Hayden Hughes, Gracie Hunter, Kayden Knapp, Lilyan Markle, Liam Marlin, Sarah Mcbee, Riley Polsinelli, John Robbins Jr., Richard Robinson II, Camden Terry, Zoey Toothman, Xavier Wells, Zakkary Wells, Hannah Woods, and Alexa Xolo-Ruggles.

“The Ziegenfelder Company is always thrilled to participate with Explore the New Manufacturing and their school initiatives,” stated Chrissy Mucheck, Ziegenfelder Brand Strategist.  “This year’s group from Moundsville Middle School highlighted our production and the economic and employment value that the manufacturing industry plays on a global scale, as well as here in West Virginia. We could not be more delighted with Moundsville Middle’s scope of project and how they’ve highlighted their view on the importance of manufacturing.”

Participating Ziegenfelder employees:  Chrissy Mucheck (Brand Strategist), Jamie Wilson (Executive Assistant), and Brad Allen (Director of Sales & Marketing).

“Today’s middle school students will be tomorrow’s workforce in manufacturing in West Virginia,” said Program Director Monica Cross, who oversees the Explore the New Manufacturing Program on behalf of the West Virginia Manufacturing Association Educational Fund’s efforts to create student awareness and excitement about careers in manufacturing and the training opportunities for these positions in their local areas. “This generation has a real opportunity to have lifelong careers in modern manufacturing environments that will use skills in technology, problem-solving, innovation and communication.”
