Explore the New Manufacturing Announces the Outstanding Kanawha Valley Region Award for the Manufacturing Innovation Challenge

Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to announce the Outstanding Kanawha Valley Region Award for the Explore Manufacturing Innovation Challenge was presented to Putnam County Technical Center (PTCT) for their project with Toyota Motor Manufacturing of WV, Inc. The company challenged the students with a robotics project designed to keep employees safe. 

Next up for the team is the state competition, where they will represent the Kanawha Valley Region to see who will be named the Manufacturing Innovation Challenge 2023 State Champion. PCTC will be competing against three other regional champions. The winner will be announced on May 10th as part of Explore the New Manufacturing's Virtual State Awards Ceremony.

Explore the New Manufacturing Announces Winners for the Explore Student Video Contest Kanawha Valley Region

Charleston, West Virginia, April 19, 2023 – Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to announce the winners of the Explore Student Video Contest Kanawha Valley region. Middle school teams were judged on the creation of a 3-minute video about their manufacturing partner, the employees, and cool aspects of the company.

The Best Manufacturing Message Award was presented to Huntington Middle School for their video about Alcon Research LTD. Huntington’s winning video demonstrated the intricate process that Alcon Research LTD undergoes to create their lenses intended for eye surgery!

Team members include Rheya Bostic, Henry Davis, Bayleigh Creasy, Marshall Fox, Audra Gerlach, Conner Ison, Ya’Riah Petties, Nate Riegel, and Amelia Rollyson. 

Blennerhassett Middle School and Kreinik Manufacturing Company Team Up for the Explore Student Video Contest

Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to release Blennerhassett Middle School’s video submission in the Kanawha Valley region of the Explore Student Video Contest.  The video showcases how Kreinik Manufacturing produces quality threads and yarns for crafters,  quilters, fiber artists, fly fishermen, and even fashion houses.

The students are competing for three regional awards: Outstanding Creativity, Best Manufacturing Message, and Viewer's Choice.  Visit https://www.exploremfgwv.com/2023-kanawha-region-video-contest to view the Blennerhassett Middle School video and cast your vote in the Viewer’s Choice Contest.  Voting closes on April 16th at midnight.

Dunbar Middle School and Service Wire Company Team Up for the Explore Student Video Contest

Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to release Dunbar Middle School’s video submission in the Kanawha Valley region of the Explore Student Video Contest.  The video showcases how Service Wire safely manufacturers high-quality wire and cable at its Culloden, West Virginia facility.

The students are competing for three regional awards: Outstanding Creativity, Best Manufacturing Message, and Viewer's Choice.  Visit https://www.exploremfgwv.com/2023-kanawha-region-video-contest to view the Dunbar Middle School video and cast your vote in the Viewer’s Choice Contest.  Voting closes on April 16th at midnight.
